New York State Canalway Trail System is a network of more than 260 miles of multi-use recreational trails across upstate New York. Major segments of the trail are adjacent to the waterways of the New York Canal System or follow remnants of the original early 1800s canals. Finger Lakes Trail Conference maintains the 562 mile long Finger Lakes Trail that connects the Catskill Mountains with the Allegheny Mountains. The Keystone Trails Association has a map of the major trails of Pennsylvania and an online guide to hiking trails in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Online Rails-to-Trails Guide lists trails that are open, under construction, and proposed. Organized by region. New York – New Jersey Trail Conference maintains over 1600 miles of hiking trails in the bi-state area. Provided by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, the database contains information on surface types, access points, locations, distances, services, reviews, photographs, and links.
