The conversion of TV broadcasting to all-digital is fast approaching. If you use an antenna to receive TV signals, as of February 17, 2009 you'll need a converter box to receive the signals. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is providing $40 coupons to offset the $50 - $80 cost of the converter boxes. Options for requesting a coupon can be found here. You have until March 31 to apply, but delivery of the coupon takes several weeks, so don’t delay.
